Michael & Jennifer's Big Day
Photographing this wedding was like getting to be one of their wedding guests -- I could not believe how welcoming and sweet both sides of this family were!! The day started with my arriving a few hours prior to the ceremony to shoot some detail photos for the bride: this included things like their invitation suite, rings, veil, bouquet, and of course THE DRESS! Her details were so creamy and gorgeous, and the bridesmaid gifts were a perfect tribute to Jennifer's personality and her relationship with her girlfriends/sister!
Then, it was over to the groom's getting-ready area where I took some groom detail shots of his tie, shoes, and groomsmen gifts, as well as some shots of his best man putting his tie on for him. Afterwards, I was able to get some detail shots of the combined ceremony and reception space, and then I swiftly moved back over to the bride to capture that special moment of her mom helping her into her dress! She looked so stunning and the top of the dress was a unique crocheted pattern -- I'd never seen anything like it! Then we knocked out some picture perfect bridal portraits and group shots of the bride and bridesmaids before getting some photos of the groom and his men in their attire, as well.
The ceremony followed shortly after and was kept short and sweet, a very modern trend! I loved that the bride's father was their officiant -- I appreciate when couples throw in a personal touch wherever they can! The post-ceremony portraits of these two will forever be some of my most favorite! They were so genuinely happy, and their natural back-and-forth was seriously adorable. Next, we took some special photos of the couple with the bride's grandmother who watched the ceremony from the upstairs window of the house where the wedding was held. Then, we moved into first dances, which always gets the waterworks flowing for everyone, including me!
Their day concluded with cute appetizers, yummy dinner, and a final send off of the married couple jumping into the lake! The weather couldn't have been more perfect for this after it had been calling for rain all week, and this send off is, hands down, one of the most creative ones I've captured yet!
